Values

Our vision, values and beliefs are important as they define us as a relational community.

Positive Relationships

Everything at Holy Family starts with relationship.

When families or staff members join our school community, we begin a process of understanding and communicating. We are about building the capacity of all our learners. The first step in this process is understanding how children learn as individuals.

We form relationships with our families to ensure their children receive the best education for them. That means tailoring our learning to the student’s needs – not the other way around. It means forming relationships with our community so that our students learn responsibility and caring for others. It means forming relationships with our teachers so their professional learning not only brings out the best in their students … it brings out the best in them.

You are welcome at Holy Family. We are here to help support your family and children as they grow. Please talk with us about how we can better support you

Trust

Our value on trust is predicated on having open and trusting relationships. We share our learning with each other in many ways. We present learning to the community through assemblies and communication between classes and home. Our teachers share their Learning Design on our Local Area Network in a spirit of openness and trust. We share our approach to learning with the many visitors to our school. When we share we also listen and when we listen we learn.

Support

Our school is built on a model of supporting our students, teachers and families. We believe that if we have expectations of excellence, then people need to be supported with the best of resources and available time to do the best job that they can.

Supporting our students and families

From the moment we welcome your family into the Holy Family community, we are supporting you as your child develops, grows and matures in their learning. Our approach ensures your child learns in the best way possible for them, rather than expecting them to conform to a one-size fits all approach.

Our approach to support extends to children who may need extra assistance. We have learned that removing them for extra help or special work has some disadvantages – so we bring teams into a classroom situation to help children in the environment in which they are comfortable.

Supporting our teachers

We support our teachers with the highest quality resources available. We have established the architecture of the class to provide the best learning environment.

We promote a contemporary approach to pedagogy which gives them the right training and support to develop their teaching skills further … and to always seek excellence through improvement.
