Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Friends of the Holy Family Catholic School Community,
As we approach the end of another wonderful term, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on some of the special moments that have brought our Holy Family community together in recent weeks.
One of the most memorable highlights has undoubtedly been our staff getting slimed to help our colour run fundraiser. The excitement and anticipation leading up to the event were matched only by the enthusiasm of our students on the day. Events like these remind us that schools are places of joy, connection and shared experiences, where learning extends beyond the classroom and creates lasting memories.
Our community also recently came together to celebrate the Moon Lantern Festival, providing students with an opportunity to learn about and appreciate the rich cultural traditions associated with this important celebration. The assembly showcased student learning, creativity and respect, and it was wonderful to see students engaging so enthusiastically in the festivities. Congratulations to all students who participated and contributed to making this celebration such a vibrant and meaningful experience.
As we near the end of term, excitement is building for our Colour Fun Run and End-of-Term Celebrations this Friday. This much-anticipated event promises an afternoon of fun, laughter and community spirit. We encourage students to come ready to participate, celebrate and enjoy this special occasion with their peers.
Events such as the Colour Run are a wonderful way to finish the term together and recognise the hard work and achievements of our students throughout the semester.
I would like to sincerely thank our staff, families and volunteers for their ongoing support of our school. The success of events such as these relies on the commitment and generosity of many people, and we are grateful for the partnership we share with our community.
As we begin the mid-semester holiday break, I wish all students and families a safe, restful and enjoyable time together.
May the holidays provide an opportunity to recharge, make special memories with loved ones and return refreshed for another exciting term of learning and growth.
Thank you for being such an important part of the Holy Family community.
Blessings,
Nicholas DePalma
Deputy Principal (On behalf of Chris Platten).

Our New Website!
Dear families,
We are excited to announce that our brand new website is now live!
Our website has been designed to provide families with easier access to important information, updates, news, and resources. We encourage you to take a look and explore the new features and content available.
Our school newsletter will now be published and accessible through the website under the ‘News & Events’ section. This will become the central location for families to stay informed about school news, events, and important announcements.
We look forward to using the new website to strengthen communication with our community and make information more accessible for all families.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Kind Regards,
Jessica Colthorpe

Colour Run Schedule
ELC: 1:00pm on the oval
Reception to Year 6: 1:30pm on the oval
To help the afternoon run smoothly and avoid disruption to learning, we kindly ask families to attend only during their child's allocated session time (schedule will be released Thursday).
Please note that students will continue to have their lunch break at the usual time while the ELC Colour Run is taking place.
For example, if you have a child in reception to year 6, access to the site will not be permitted if you attend early.
We are looking forward to a fun filled day!
The Power of Play at Early Learning
Our little learners have had a busy term exploring, engaging and connecting. Each and every day is a new opportunity to grow, learn & build relationships within our community.
Play is such a powerful part of a child’s learning! Learning through play builds the critical brain foundations, social skills & a child’s capabilities in a natural and joyful way!
At Holy Family Catholic School Early Learning we believe all children are born as capable and competent citizens, made in the image of God. We are so privileged to share in moments of discovery, joy, excitement and wonder.
Through our carefully and thoughtfully constructed environments, experiences and routines, our amazing little learners fill their days with such wonder and delight!
Do you know a child aged 3-5 looking for Preschool or Long Day Care? We would love to invite you on a tour of our Early Learning!

Touch Football
On Thursday 3rd of September, six teams proudly represented our school at the Catholic Primary Schools Carnival for Touch Football held at Park 17 in the city. It was a fantastic day filled with teamwork, determination, and school spirit.
Students demonstrated good sportsmanship and leadership, making the school proud both on and off the fields. Each team played five games against the other schools.
A big thank you to Craig, Alby and Joanna for generously volunteering their time to supervise and support the teams.

Year 5/6 Camp
Uniform and Supporting Gus
We kindly ask all parents and carers to check their child's clothing at home to ensure they have all of their belongings, including jumpers, jackets, hats and other uniform items.
If you discover that your child has clothing that does not belong to them, please return these items to Student Services so they can be reunited with their rightful owner.
Thank you for your support in helping us keep our lost property organised.
