At Holy Family Catholic School, community outreach is an important part of living our faith in action. Inspired by the teachings of Jesus and our commitment to serving others, students are encouraged to demonstrate compassion, generosity, and social responsibility through meaningful service opportunities within the local and wider community.
Throughout the year, students participate in a range of outreach initiatives that support people experiencing disadvantage and raise awareness of important social justice issues. Our school proudly supports organisations and programs such as Catherine House, Fred’s Van, St Vincent de Paul, and Project Compassion, providing opportunities for students and families to contribute through fundraising, donations, advocacy, and acts of service.
These experiences help students develop a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by others while encouraging empathy, gratitude, and a commitment to making a positive difference. By engaging with community outreach programs, students learn that every contribution, no matter how small, has the power to create meaningful change.
‘For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.’
Matthew 25:35
