As part of our ongoing commitment toliving out our Catholic values and supporting those in need within our wider community, we are excited to announce our participation in the Catholic Mission Socktober Outreach Initiative.
This year, Socktober is raising awareness and funds for communities in Malawi, helping to ensure children have access to food and education and giving them the opportunity tobuild a brighter future.
Holy Family Catholic School will celebrate Socktober on Thursday 17th September 2026 (Term 3, Week 9). The day will include a range of engaging activities for students, with our Year 5 students leading the initiative and creating the "sockballs" that will be used byall classes throughout the day.
To support our fundraising efforts, students from all year levels are invited to come to school wearing their favourite sports top and socks on Thursday 17th September. We kindly ask families to make a donation via Qkr! or contribute a $1 or $2 gold coin donation to their child's class teacher on the day.
In addition, we will be holding a raffle for a Socktober-branded soccer ball. Raffle tickets will be $2 each OR 3 for $5 (cash only). Year 5 students will be selling tickets from next week going from class to class. Tickets can also be purchased from the Front Office.
The raffle will be drawn at our 9.00am Assembly on Friday 18th September, which will also celebrate our Moon Lantern Festival.
